Interior Reno Questions

Q: Should I be using plywood or OSB?

A: "Although plywood seems like the obvious choice I would recommend OSB (Oriented Strand Board) because it has sheer strength in both directions, unlike plywood which must be installed horizontally in all applications."

Q: Do you use steel or wood studs?

A: "I am a fan of steel stud in non-structural applications. Steel produces a higher R value with your insulation. It stays straight with no warping or nail popping. Wood should always be used in structural locations where are live and dead loads applied on it."
